Design. Build. Destroy Hunger.
About This Campaign
Canstruction is a unique design & build charity art exhibition! Teams of students build structures entirely from canned foods. Please take a moment to watch the brief video for some examples of these amazing builds! The competition is a fun and exciting way for young people to engage in teambuilding while practicing leadership, creativity, mathematics, and design...all while working for a good cause: Feeding those in need in Food Bank of Eastern Michigan's 22 county service area. You CAN make a difference!
This competition will take place at Genesee Valley Center in March. Structures will be on display March 11th-23rd, but please go to the mall and vote for your favorite between March 11th and 15th! The structure with the most votes will win the People's Choice Award. Overall, there are 6 awards which will be given out at the ceremony on March 16th. Come join us for a new and different event!!
ATTN TEAMS: A $100 donation secures your spot in the competition and will be applied to the cost of the canned food for your structure. To register your team, select the Register button on this page. Registration is free! Once your team is registered, you will be required to make a $100 tax-deductible donation to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, which you can do through the "I CAN" donation button on your team's page. This donation will be directed toward the purchase of food for your structure.
If your team wishes to collect additional donations for your structure, please direct your supporters to your team's page. Your team must have a maximum of 5 official student builders and a school official or parent contact. You do not have to add each team member during registration. For more information or help with registration please contact Katie Howicz at the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan: email@example.com or 810-239-4441.

Campaign to Support Food Bank of Eastern Michigan
Serving families in need since 1981, the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan has grown to provide more than 28 million pounds of food, including over 10 million pounds of fresh produce, each year. Working through a network of more than 415 partner agencies, including local food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters, the Food Bank impacts more than 331,000 people who struggle with hunger throughout 22 eastern Michigan counties. The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan is a 501(c)3 organization.
We are a group of Girl Scouts from Turril Elementary in Lapeer, Mi. We are excited to be able to work together to help others who do not have access to food.
We're a FIRST Robotics team from Grand Blanc East and West Middle School. We want to help our community and fight hunger while incorporating what we learn on our team. We're so excited to build something unique while helping end hunger!
